Blinker is an online multiplayer, FPS game available on Windows, Mac OS and Web. The game is developed using Unity 3D Game Engine and Photon Network Engine.
The idea of this game is to implement the traditional out-door game, Capture The Flag, in a networked FPS system. Nowadays, since MOBA (Multiple Online Battle Arena) games, like DOTA, League Of Legend, are becoming more and more popular among players, we have brought some interesting mechanics from those games. For example, each player will have a set of skills. Players need to generate their own strategies on how and when to use these skills so as to make most out of them. All these makes the traditional Capture Of Flag game become much more interesting and challenging.
The game is built using Unity3D, and we built our game server based on Photon Network. The game server brings people from different locations, different platforms together. Everyone is connected to the game lobby directly and network addresses are all hidden to the players. This means if you created a game in Los Angeles on your Macbook, I can immediately join you from China using Windows.
